Barre-Pilates classes focus on functional strength training in combination with Pilates movement principles with the focus on building overall strength, coordination, balance, flexibility, and core stability. Functional barre consists of exercises that enhance your day to day life by building your body strong and capable. We do that by using light hand weights and resistance bands so our joints don't get overloaded and sore.nEvery movement begins at the core, so it's necessary that we build our strength from the inside out. Pilates-style core exercises create a strong "powerhouse" (abdominals, muscles of the hip, low back, gluteals, pelvic floor) which has been proven to reduce back pain, neck pain, improve posture, athletic performance, stabilize hips, and pelvic floor dysfunction.
Each class consists of 30 minutes of standing barre-style exercises (with a high backed chair for support) in combination with 20 minutes of Pilates-style core work on our mats. All levels welcome! Starting with a basic movement and then layers of complexity and challenge will be offered. Head to
